BSA BIO arises from the evident finding that the Amazon rainforest is a source of unlimited opportunities to transform the region’s status quo, therefore raising all its social, economic and environmental indicators.

Through an authorial process, BSA BIO systematizes and integrates planning, strategy, methodology and innovation, aiming to identify bioactive products from the Amazon region to turn them into profitable businesses, while ensuring the preservation of its natural heritage.

The way to transform bioactives into profitable businesses, is to join the stakeholders of the bioeconomy ecosystem with efficiency and transparency. This know-how is the fruit of the summed up experience acquired throughout the past decade while implementing and managing BRAERG – Brazilian Expertise Research Group, resulting in the transformation of scientific initiatives into applied technologies.

BRAERG’s genesis began in 2012 after participating and winning an international scientific contest in which scientists from the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft organization from Germany, as well as American scientists also participated and competed.

Outstandingly, the milestone of this trajectory is the achievement of patents in the USA, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Monaco, South Africa and Brazil.
